Writing Meme Question 2 & 3

Borrowed from [personal profile] sixbeforelunch

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project.

My current project [which I haven't started] is Unconventional Courtship challenge, and The Old Guard's Yusuf is going to inherit his late half-brother Jafar's concubine/monk Nicky. I am looking forward to writing the moment when Yusuf is told the crazy terms of the will.

I would also like to write a sequel to The Arrangement at Old Guard Hall in which Joe has to solve the murder of Nicky's husband. I love writing in hard-boiled Raymond Chandleresque voice and would love to do it, if I had all the plot pieces. I asked [personal profile] sanspatronymic for noir/hard-boiled film recs and recently spent about 2 weeks watching about a dozen old movies but the pieces still elude me. I have even thought of reading Save the Cat or another of those plotting books to get ideas about how to organize it.

Also, starting Sunday, GYWO is hosting Seven Days, Seven Stories, and I am going to use that week to write some sonnets using my Yahtzee prompts. I love sonnets! And I already am looking forward to my days being filled with trying to rhyme things.

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway).

Not a scene, but a whole fic. I would love to write a fem!Sherlock fic (probably in my Sentinel 'verse) where Guide!John is inside Sentinel!Sherlock's Mind Palace and she has to solve seven mysteries to free Sherlock. Something a bit like The Seven Lives of Evelyn Hardcastle meets Jennifer Lopez in The Cell.
