Have you tried any Hitchcock stories for your unconventional courtship plot? e.g. Shadow of a Doubt or Vertigo? I suppose Bladerunner is pretty film noir.

The best film noir I've ever seen is Night of the Hunter but I think that tips over into horror, it's chilling.
