Into the Void: return to the fold edition

1. To recap, Monday night the horrible leak which had been growing and growing in the boys' bedroom ceiling became more horrible and after a really scary night of buckets and pails and bins and drip-drip-drip which drove me partially insane, and a morning which including sleeping on in the car, the roof caved in.

So I fled to an extended stay hotel. I thought the boys would come with me, but they didn't want to. They stayed with their father.

So contractors came and did an estimate, and then they came and fixed the enormous hole in the ceiling and the nasty wall of mold which was in the boys' closet. So they've had 2 nights of no leaks, so I've come back home.

I felt like I was Julia Roberts in Sleeping with the Enemy or a fugitive or something. In a liminal state of neither here nor there. The closest eating place was Chick-fil-a but I drove to get a tuna sub. It's PRIDE month, goddammit, no homophobic waffle fries (or peach milkshake, which sounds even better) for you! I didn't turn on the TV either the whole time. I think some people live there because the school bus came. And I heard kids and saw a cat in a window. Today is the last full day of school for the boys. They have three half days next week.

2. Today is FESTA day which is the 12th anniversary of the debut of BTS and last night in Seoul, jhope had a concert and all seven were in attendance, including SUGA!!! So it is a very good day.

I am so, so glad the ceiling didn't fall in on you and your family, thank goodness. I'm glad the contractors mended all the problems, sometimes they can see it's serious and don't quibble about prices and things.

Sounds like a bit of excitement staying in that hotel, a change of routine and seeing different people.

OMG that ceiling story sounds truly horrendous, I would have suffered a real mental breakdown, man. Did they also investigate at the upstairs neighbours?? Lest it won't happen again, I mean. *crossing fingers* Glad to hear you're back home, though.

I'm so glad it's fixed and that you've had no more leaks! Ugh, what a nightmarish experience. Hopefully everything stays functioning from now on.

I've been listening to the soundtrack from Étoile, my new fandom, and there was a BTS song on there ('Lie'), which made me think of you! I like it, it's catchy.

I saw a headline that BTS have now all finished their compulsory military service. Was this their first reunion concert as a complete group?

Yes, I have enough to deal with in terms of life. I really don't need this kind of thing to distract from the ongoing struggles.

Lie is a very interesting song. It's Jimin's solo song and he majored in contemporary dance so that's his thing. Here is him performing it (a pretty iconic performance in the fandom, and definitely among his solo sans):

Not quite. 6 of 7 are out. SUGA took the public service route (he has had surgery on his shoulder so I think he was medically exempt from the regular solider route) so he is supposed to be out on 21 June.

It was a jhope solo concert but 2 of the members (Jin and Jungkook) performed on stage with him at parts of the concert and the other 4 (including SUGA, he can attend things but he can't perform or do anything official yet) were in a VIP box. SUGA has not shown his face or given any kind of message to ARMY since the controversy with his DUI on a scooter so it was a big deal to see him in public and he looked fine and normal.

Jin is going on a world solo tour so I don't know when or if they will have a reunion concert. Maybe at the end of his tour? Like when they will all be on stage performing again. I don't know.

But it was enough to see SUGA and see he's okay. The other ones have been sporadically sending ARMY messages.
