1. It is day #2 of my job and I had to call #911 for my client. Talk about being thrown in the deep end! He's okay and I'm okay but it was still a wild second day.

2. Also Minisculus woke up with neck pain enough to make him sob and scream, and I had to leave him. I am being thrown the working mom angst right from the start.

3. But Minisculus placed 7th in his race at the regional club championship so he got to stand on the podium and a bronze medal the size of a dinner plate.

I'm trying to figure out my routine. I will add a second client on Thursday so I suppose I am waiting for that to figure out what I do when (like grocery shopping). I am reminding myself to take it easy and just handle one enormous shift at a time. Being a working mom fand having my kid be a latch key kid is enough for this week.

Oh that is the deep end indeed! The 911 and your son, gosh!

I was lucky that I avoided having a latch key kid because my daughter was just a baby then a toddler when I went out to work. I myself was a latch key kid though, didn't do me any harm. So I don't think it's a problem for kids, just for the mums worrying ((hugs))

You can do it 💪 I'll be really interested to see which you find easier- being a working mum or a stay at home mum.

I found working easier, because I could switch off at work and let other people take up the slack, I could have a lunch break and go to the toilet alone. At home I was always on duty 24/7, no breaks.

I'm not saying you're the same as me! It's just what I discovered for myself.

You really were thrown into the deep end. But it sounds like you coped with it well and I admire you for that. Poor Minisculus though, and poor you having to leave him! You sound wise in just taking it one shift at a time. I'm sure you'll sort out your new routine pretty quickly though--keeping things organised seems like something you're very good at.

And congratulations to Minisculus on getting a medal!

Glad to hear your third day was better; but that sure sounds like a rough start... at least you have this "what's the worst that could happen today?"-option now ticked off an imaginary list. Also glad that your client is alright as well!!

Hope your working mom fears will dissipate as soon and as thorough as possible. You're doing great, and it's perfectly normal that these changes will shake a few things up. Crossing my fingers for you and your kids that you'll soon embrace the positive sides of it. ♥
