Well, part of the spiritual philosophy that I follow says that all of life is one and that the purpose of the spiritual journey is to realize that, to remove all that is separate so that you become one with everything that has life (including animals and plants) and that's what the poem reminded me of. Getting rid of the separateness and realizing the unity of life. I mean, Mary Oliver (the poet) did die, but it wasn'y one of her later poems.
