I couldn't wait another day to change my journal style to Halloween mood.

Yesterday it rained hard, and the boys' soccer practices were cancelled. The boy downstairs came up, and (new) the mother of the girl across the hall asked us to keep her in this afternoon (just one, I think!). So somehow I ended up with 4 kids in my tiny 2 bedroom apartment. The family downstairs is from Ghana and the one across the hall is from Ethiopia, so with the boys being Rwandan, it was a Pan African child care center.

I am almost done Marie with Kondo-ing my papers. Then I move onto komono (miscellanea), which should be tough.

It looks spooky in here. Related: I'm thinkin' about decorating my physical apartment for fall this year, which I don't think I've ever done. Gonna get some pumpkins, at least!

I would definitely decorate for autumn. When I worked in an office, I decorated for every holiday. I had a lot of fun with it. Pumpkins are fun. You can get some nice lights, too. I have ones that are autumn leaves.

My paperwork is currently under control (more than I'd want, but I have my mother's papers and I'm not destroying any of them at the moment).

Yeah, I mean, I was surprised at the people across the hall. We aren't especially close to them, but I suppose we're perceived as trustworthy enough. And it was different having a girl in the house.

Yeah, I got rid of a lot of stuff and condensed a lot of stuff. The shredded documents were one and a half large kitchen rubbish bags and the unshredded paper was about a paper grocery bag, plus a whole box of other junk. I got a thing to hang shoes vertically in the closet to free up some floor space. And I got the boys' father a rolling set of shelves for his workspace. And I got a dirty clothes hamper. Believe it or not, up until now we just put the dirty clothes in a pile in the corner.
