Music Monday: Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar

I liked [personal profile] jo's question from 365 questions of 3 January:

[Women Rock! Day: From the Supremes to Janis Joplin to Tori Amos to Billie Eilish, women have made their mark in the world of music. If you were putting together an all-female play list, list five performers who would absolutely have to be on it.] It made me think, and my list is here. I know I'm probably forgetting/overlooking candidates, so feel free to talk about your faves in the comments.

1. Dolly Parton
2. Lauryn Hill
3. Thalia
4. Rhianna
5. Pat Benatar

Love is a Battlefield is definitely one of the first music videos I remember. It's from 1983 so I would've been 8 years old.

What a great dance-off: vaguely unsettling instead of über!sexy, I like that! :D

My favourite female singer is probably Rose Kemp (the daughter of Steeleye Span's Maddy Prior and Rick Kemp): I've never heard someone like her before or since, she entertains an insane range with her voice. It's a lot to listen to at first, but I got addicted quickly. :D Let me know what you think of her if you decide to check her out!

Great list! I particularly love Dolly Parton.

In addition to the ones you list, I would also put Loretta Lynn and Joan Baez.
