I don't think I would recommend Nero Wolfe. I like him, but I don't know if he would be your cup of tea.

I have this book. Big Nero Wolfe fan (and Archie fan).

Ah, I haven't read it yet, but it's in my TBR pile. It was my sister's and she gave it to me. She is an avid orchid grower and she likes detective stories too.
