News & Views: Say that you remember edition
1. The boys' father decided we should go on a family vacation. *picture a sort of interracial Griswolds* so he has decided we are going to Aruba next month (he's doing the bookings). We've never been on a family vacation. If you have been to Aruba and can recommend anything, let me know. Should be interesting.
2. I made a donation to Harris for President.
3. I am going to try a Hobonichi planner next year instead of making my own bullet journal. I ordered a Cousin A5 with a Scrabble type cover. It will be an experiment.
4. My AO3 account is nearing 3 million words. I'll cross that mark later this week with the soap opera.
5.
bitsizedcleaning is running a kind of 'chore a day' September Stampede with daily check-in.
1 SEPT: World Letter Writing Day: Whenโs the last time you wrote a letter?
If postcards count as letters, I do them often. Growing up, I wrote letters to my grandmother and great aunts a lot.
2 SEPT: World Coconut Day. Coconut. Yay or nay?
I like Almond Joys (candy bar). I like the smell of coconut oil. I don't know about coconut water. I can take or leave it. In general, yay.
3 SEPT: Cinema Day: What are the benefits and drawbacks of watching movies in a movie theatre?
There are some films and things (like concerts) which are better seen on a big screen. Some 3D movies are cool. I like movie theater popcorn. :) Drawbacks are other people yapping.

It's a good comm for prompting you to do things you should be doing/ought to have done (if that makes sense).

2. Well done! I'm praying that Harris wins and America doesn't get that old orange back again.
4. Also well done! 3 million words. I think mine is 750K or something, I'm a slow writer.
3 SEPT. I generally like going to the cinema, because sometimes I get a good crowd experience. e.g. when we went to see Apollo 13, the audience clapped and cheered at the end. And when we first went to the cinema after the Covid pandemic, there was no talking, everyone was all subdued and awed by the loud noise, the bright lights, the action. We all had to get used to it again after years of quiet. It was probably like when cinema first arrived 100 years ago.

My dad didn't like onions so I never had an onion until I was in my 20's. Life is like that.
Thank you, thank you.
That would've been interesting Apollo 13. Yeah, post pandemic was strange.

I don't know much about dads and what they do, so I can't really comment on that ๐
It really was a group experience watching Apollo 13, everyone was sitting there in awe, there was little talking or fiddling. Although it was a long time ago when people behaved better in cinemas i.e. no mobile phones!
And it kind of felt the same after the pandemic, the film was Jurassic World Dominion, everyone was quiet and well behaved.

Mmmh, coconut. When we were changing trains in Milano I had a coffee slushie thing with coconut stuff in it, it was absolute bliss, but then I was super tired and we had like 40 degrees, haha.

They say coconut water is much like IV fluids so I think your refreshment is very likely. Cold and sweet on a hot tiring day is good.
