The Nose Knows: Emeraude, L'Origan, My Sin

The second installment of my exploration of vintage perfumes.

This is going slower than I thought it would because it's difficult for me to think about what I'm smelling and what to make of it all. So I think 3 a post is probably the most I'm going to manage.

The three this week are: Emeraude by Coty; L'Origan by Coty; and My Sin by Lanvin.

PS: I'm not going to keep the Emeraude, so if anyone wants it, send me a message and I'll mail you the tiny vial (along with the two Caron fragrances from the last post).

The Nose Knows: Adventures in Perfume Sniffing

There are seventy-five perfumes, which it is very necessary that a criminal expert should be able to distinguish from each other, and cases have more than once within my own experience depended upon their prompt recognition.


Following Holmes's example, I decided to do my own investigation in scent! On impulse, I bought a set of samples of vintage perfumes from The Pefumed Court and I've set about wearing one a day. Here are my thoughts on the first three: Tabac Blond, Narcisse Noir (both by Caron) and Chypre by Coty.
