Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

I made green eggs and ham for the boys. They weren't impressed. I ended up finishing the ham with one of my FAVORITE seasonal treats: Bailey's Irish Cream cake. YUM!

Honey has been on my mind because the boys' father prefers it (he eats it on frozen waffles every morning and prefers local honey whenever I'm in a place to buy it, like farmer's markets and produce stand) and the doctor told him he has to cut out sugar to get his A1c down so he was talking about cutting it out. I like it in theory and bees and honey as symbols but I don't eat it.

I don't think I can do better than this collage from last year. I checked my local craft store and these were the bee stickers they had so I'd make the same collage over.



The concept of 'mad honey' caught my attention in a language of flowers book and I read up on it. It's honey and comb made from bees who forage among species of Rhododendron in Turkey. It's been used as a weapon for millennia.

So I wrote a poem and did a triple drabble for holmes_minor.

I like using tarot cards as prompts. I use Cassandra Snow's Queering the Tarot as my interpretation guide. I don't own a tarot deck myself (I am open to suggestions as far as pretty art decks. I am always tempted by an Edgar Allan Poe one I see at the bookstore but I never succumb) but I wouldn't be opposed to having one and using it as a tool. So I did three tarot prompts with the Matthew Venn detective series from a trio of prompts I got from GYWO in January, and related them to murder, and I did a collage with Emperor and Emperess cards. I still have the High Priestess and Hierophant cards.



And I did a fill for dick_or_treat using Emperor and Emperess as prompts. And in it, Jungkook is accused of murder. I might do another fic in this AU with High Priestess and Hierophant cards if folks like it.

I like chocolate. I like to use wrappers in my collaging (the previous poetry collage had one). I just finished a nonfiction book on the history of chocolate. After reading about the issues around child labor and fair trade, I am going to try to be more careful in my choices of chocolate, but I realized that's a bit difficult too in that I also have to find chocolate I want to eat. I like slightly dark chocolate but not too dark. And I don't like sea salt so anyway, I will make it to the organic store and see what they have some day.




Poisoned chocolates are a nice motif in detective fiction. The most famous is The Poisoned Chocolates Case by Anthony Berkley but Poirot used it too. I am sure there are others. I even tried to read a cozy chocolate mystery but alas cozy mysteries are REALLY not my thing. I just couldn't believe that twin sisters could make a business of mystery-themed chocolates in a small town in Montana. But maybe I am wrong. So I didn't get past chapter 1.

Because I just posted my first fill for 2024. I have been participating since 2019. Last year they did a hurt/comfort version in the autumn, too, called sick_or_treat.

This is a porn fic challenge which runs from 1 April to 31 May and the challenge is to use a Pokemon move as the title. That's it. They have very helpful spreadsheets of moves if you don't know them (I don't). And you get naughty badges.
