My Poem: Original: Merry Gang: Gen

Title: Merry Gang
Fandom: Original
Poetic form: Spencerian sonnet
Length: 102
Lines: 14
Rating: Gen
For: Yahtzee - Fives
Prompt:

When carved glass shards do catch and throw bliss-bright,
when crescent moons and stars of crystal clear
suspend by spider’s threads from unseen height
as firmament of playful planisphere,

when underneath the pendants gather near
a merry gang about to say ‘hello’
their greeting fine with feeling and good cheer
their warm expressions lit by gleaming glow

when dinosaur and pink flamingo-go
and spectacled-sweet, round-eyed panda bear
and chick and mouse and pig, each lying low
all beckon you to come and with them and share,

you’ll join them, not suspecting what awaits:
the closing gate will scream your closing fate!
