so you and I are wont to go a-roaming,
when daylight fades, the two of us are off
on rambles, urban brambles all a-gloaming.

foregoing hive’s prosaic honeycombing,
we’ve no eventide urge to sup and quaff
so you and I are wont to go a-roaming

two kindred souls on high adventure homing
like rooting out a case of graveyard cough
on rambles, urban brambles all a-gloaming

on city shores with waves of gloom a-foaming,
we ride the crest and stumble in the trough,
so you and I are wont to go a-roaming

unearthing eldritch sown among the loaming
a genteel task at which our caps we doff
on rambles, urban brambles all a-gloaming

no matter moon in firmament a-doming
inertia bids intrepid hearts to scoff
so you and I are wont to go a-roaming
on rambles, urban brambles all a-gloaming

Thank you! I had Byron's "So we'll go no more a-roving" in mind when I realized gloaming and roaming rhymed and that's what started it off. And firecat had a post about churchyard cough and I thought that was a fun phrase.
