Advent Day 13: Light & Darkness

I was going to save this theme for the solstice but I realized today is the feast day of my patron saint (or name saint, the name I picked for Catholic confirmation because there is no Saint Okapi), Saint Lucy, patron saint of light so have an acrostic tanka.

light by okapi

let the bookends of
ineffable night draw close,
gather daylight’s tomes,
held briefly, then extinguished
tightening winter’s embrace
