Sunshine Challenge: Green

A couple of things on green.

I am participating in the Mystery Stitch A-long on Shitpost Sampler. So every 3 days in July, they reveal a 10 x 10 part of a cross stitch that is 40 x 30. We're on #6. The main two colors are shades of green, and the accent color is yellow. I'm putting my progress in the cut in case anyone wants to try it and doesn't want to be spoiled. I don't know what it's going to say, so if you can figure it out--don't tell me!







And a Good Omens poem. In the Lockdown Good Omens youtube video, Crowley says he's going to go back to sleep and set his alarm for July because surely the pandemic will be over by then. Since it's July, it's time to #WaketheSnake.

Angel & Demon Lockdown Poem by okapi

an angel waits through plague and days for a sleeping demon who is incommunicado
said demon rests as still and as deadly as the fabled cask of Amontillado
while angel pours through dusty first editions, literary El Dorado
and sips cocoa while humming showtunes, songs from My Fair Lady to The Mikado
and keeping an eye on the gas ring, where simmers a spicy beef carbonado
but days and nights go by, demon-less existence becomes gentle bastinado
at last, as angel contemplates a career as ethereal desperado,
the serpent stirs, stretches, yawns, declares, ‘Oh, damn, it’s all still One Big Avocado!”

Mmmm, avocado.

We tend to have "avocado with romain, lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber and avocado" once a week, but lately the avocados have been so fabulous we've been eating it twice a week.

I'm completely mystified by your progress so far in the "stitch-along." Can you shine up your link? Right now it doesn't go anywhere with an explanation.

Yeah, we don't have it as much as that, but once in a while it's a nice treat. My sons' father likes them a lot.

Wow! Never seen a rhyming database before, which is of course 10x better than a book.

why yes there are three words which rhyme with marsupial

It also has near rhymes which is sometimes helpful.

Best with the mystery stitch! A highly intriguing challenge. Is the stitch easy to do or not for beginners? (Not that I will do it, just curious. The colour is good.)

Well, it's cross stitch. Minor can do it so I think it's pretty straightforward. And the whole thing is 30 stitches by 40 stitches so that's not big. And only 3 colors.

Yes, it is essentially a cross stitch puzzle and it's nice to get a new piece every 3 days. A pleasant surprise in a world that has so many awful ones at the moment!

The mystery stitchalong looks fun; I've figured out the first word but not the second ;-). I've done a mystery knitalong once, which was fun but also a big investment in time and materials; this seems less risky.

March was yesterday. And in between there's only been unloading the dishwasher, unloading the dryer, and wondering if we're running out of toilet paper.

I stocked up on toilet paper in February. My spidey sense went off immediately. There was still plenty on the store shelves and I felt silly buying the giant family-size pack (I live alone and I wasn't even low on toilet paper in the closet), but the next time I was in the store the toilet paper aisle was looking low and the next time I was at the store, the entire paper-goods aisle was completely empty. I'm honestly proud of my panic-shopping skills.
