Yesterday was a splendid day.
I got well wishes in many forms from online friends (you all) and my sister and the boys’ father and an email and a text from friends from past lives. And I got three beautiful fics!
Ferreting Around by
smallhobbit. Ferret helps out with a case and there’s mention of one of my favourite props: naughty postcards. Hobbit does short (and long) case fic so well and, well, I don’t think there’s anyone who comes near her in the Ferret department.
Zero to Sixty by
mafief. Young Sherlock buys a motorcycle! I love motorcycles and I love Sherlock in this fic. He’s just perfect and he shares my adoration for that wonderful blend of chrome and speed and vibration.
The Final Piece of the Puzzle by
scfrankles. Frankles pays tribute to a RL incident in my life with a lost puzzle piece and highlights the friendship between Mrs. Hudson and Mrs. Turner, which I’ve come to appreciate more after writing so many ficlets of them for Ladies Bingo.
And speaking of puzzles, here’s the one I did yesterday. 500 pieces. Easy to start and finish in a couple of hours. And nice and bright and cheery. For 24 hours, I did not have to cook or do laundry or clean up anyone’s messes but my own, so it was sweet.
