The language of flowers has always been a good source of inspiration for me. I have traditionally used Kate Greenaway's Language of Flowers from archive.org, but I recently found two books at the library: A Victorian Flower Dictionary by Mandy Kirkby and The Complete Language of Flowers: A Definitive and Illustrated History by S. Theresa Dietz. The first one has short vignettes on 50 flowers and includes references to art, music, and poetry. The second is more comprehensive with very short dictionary-like entries on 1001 flowers. I used the first book to write 4 fills for
vocab_drabbles. Here are 2 of the Miss Marple ones. And here are two more Sherlock Holmes (ACD) ones.
