The State of the Ficcery: October 2020

Reading/Listening to: I have been listening to some Cyril Hare short stories on the Youtube at MJam from London.
Writing: Three Hallowe'en stories: The Undead of Poveglia (The Old Guard) and two entries for Spook Me [The Flowering of the Very Good, Very Bad Orchid, Good Omens and The Dying (Undead) Detective] and four chapter to Sussex Neighbours [Sherlock Holmes (ACD) - Sussex 'Verse], which brings me to 35 of 50 prompts for the DW Inspiring Tables challenge. Twenty-one chapter collection of The Old Guard (Joe/Nicky) ficlets for Comfortween and Whumptober prompts and forty-four chapters/ficlets for Kinktober. I left one Kinktober collection hanging (The Monster Cock, BBC Sherlock, Omegaverse, The Fucking Machine 'verse) because I ran out of muse, so I owe that collection a conclusion to the Mystery of the Candy Corn.
I'm thinking about Christmas, trying to do a personal inventory if I feel up to writing an Advent calendar and if so, what fandom and 'verse.
Most commenters are lovely but did have a string of not-lovelies from belligerent to petty to the classic Coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs [one abused me thrice for mis-tagging something in 2016; one left a comment to make certain I understood a kudo was for only one chapter of a multi-chapter fic; and M is back (M is my long-time commentor who makes me extremely uncomfortable when she asks for fics where Sherlock is brutalized, now she wants Lestrade brutalized)].
Personal: The big news is that tomorrow the boys, their father and I are headed out of town for the night. I had too much anxiety about trick or treaters (we usually have 100's of kids. there are 300+ apartments in the complex, most with kids. I went through 3 mega jumbo bags of candy last year.) and asked to flee and the boys' father agreed. I know many of you think this is no big deal but I assure you it is a Big Deal. We've never gone away as a family. We've never eaten in a restaurant as a family. We don't vacation. We're poor and we're rootless, so there's never any money or any reason. But here we go! We've been working with Minor about not peeing the bed in anticipation of staying in a hotel and after a few dodgy weeks, and alarms going off once and sometimes twice a night, he's gone a week without peeing the bed. So that's pretty good. We've got a soccer game and we're leaving straight from there. I am very anxious, of course, but it's better than hiding from trick or treaters. One cutting episode this month, but I managed to stave off the second urge. I voted. That's about it.
