In your own space, brag about yourself. Tell us what things you've done that you're proud of; the things that make you the wonderful person you are. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
1. I've been writing fanfic for seven years and I've got (as of today) 2,076,637 words in my AO3 account.
2. I've never met a kink I didn't try to understand. My most popular fic is an explicit-rated BBC Sherlock ficlet collection called Cheers. It is at 237 chapters of exactly 500 words each, 1k+ kudos and 1600+ comments, many pairings and moresomes. I've been adding to it for five years. It's pure kink, everything from piss play to parrot play, alien eggs to drugged-body-glitter-made-us-do-it. The chapters are named after beverages (usually alcoholic). I'm ashamed of many aspects of my past and present, but kinkshaming? Nopity nope. I know the difference between reality and fiction (if only in this one aspect of my life). I recently got this comment on my Snow White and the Seven Dwarves PWP [Nights are for Sharing]:
Ha ha! I read your Sherlock and GO and it never occurred to me you were anything like this LOL. Fun.
I am, in fact, Like This, and I am not so much proud of being Like This as proud of the fact that I know being Like This is okay. It's something I know in my core, a non-negotiable, one of the few. I mean, I'm a mom who doesn't really like children and a wife who doesn't like marriage and a stay-at-home person who doesn't like staying home and a soccer parent who doesn't like soccer. I've bent on so much that it's comforting to find some aspect of life where I don't bend. And it's hilarious that it's kink.
