Into the Void
Dec. 19th, 2021 12:28 pmIt's difficult to believe it's less than a week until Christmas. I am finally listening to Christmas carols. I prefer the Spotify channel called 'a Merry lofi Christmas' which is instrumental electronic moody versions of carols. It's nice to have on in the background.
I put all my Christmas cards in the post and all the gifts have been purchased. So that's done. The boys decorated our tiny tree and there is one strand of big multi-coloured bulbs on the balcony.
I took the boys to get their first COVID vaccination on Thursday (Pfizer) at a clinic held at one of the local high schools. Once they are 2 weeks past their second dose, they will not be required to quarantine if they are a contact of a positive case at school, which is the real advantage for the moment. The boy across the hall has had to quarantine 3 times this semester because of contact.
The boys' father had a physical and there is some concern about his blood pressure, and the last couple of days he's been actually telling me what he's going to do. It's difficult to describe, but it's definitely different. He usually just does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and I have to ask if I want to know. I think he's worried about his health so he's actually paying attention to me. It's strange. He is probably leaving for Kenya for a month in January so it won't last long, but I had to ask him why he was telling me something and he just looked at me sheepishly and I said 'is it because you think you're going to have a heart attack?' and he said 'yes.'
I had a stab at setting up my bullet journal for 2022. There are so many fun journalling paper, stickers, washi tape, doodahs out there. You could deplete your bank account easily.
I am four chapters away from finishing my last Kinktober fic! Wee! The end is nigh.
