According to the composer, this song was 'inspired by thoughts of compassion and is meant to evoke feelings of serenity and peace.' So let's have a cup of that today!

Word Count: 10,068

Writing: Exceeded my monthly goal with 3 poems. I did a villanelle, a Burns stanza, and a palindrome.

The word count is 11k less than the monthly GYWO goal, but I am not sweating it. I did finish a BBC Sherlock femlock vampire fic [Blood is the Tinsel of the Damned].

Next month my goal is to participate in the Lupercalia challenge of [personal profile] petra and finish an omelette poem.

Reading & Listening: I read 6 books this month. 4 for the Book Bingo [2 more will show up in next month's summary] and 2 for my Agatha Christie quest. I also found 2 podcasts I enjoy and will post about those [Hard History and Criminal].

Goals: I have lost a few pounds but not enough to comment upon. 16 days I managed some cardio and 19 days I managed to stretch. I studied Korean for 21 hours. In collage journalling, I did 14 spreads/cards. I did 9 pieces to the miniature coffee shop. I did 3 other crafts: the Epiphany tart, moorland pony moodboard, and the Mousehole paper village.

I am liking the bullet journaling. I will keep doing it and improving how I do it. I am learning what I need to track and how I need to track them to convince myself that even as a mum-worm I am still accomplishing things, doing things, contributing things to the world. I have to convince myself I am have value and (rightly or wrongly) that's easier to do with numbers of things.

Personal: Yesterday I had to do Minisculus' Sunday School homework with him, and it wasn't nearly as awful as I had been dreading. Yay. His father is normally Completely In Charge of that.

Next Month: Lupercalia fic, I started on a puzzle that only has its border, Valentine's Day, the boys' father returns, indoor soccer season starts for Minor, so practice once a week and games on Saturday, I have a tall TBR pile, no lack there

ETA: Yesterday, I also did the last box requiring de-cluttering so I consider myself neat and tidy for a while! I really like the Marie Kondo method.

I am not a huge podcast enthusiast, but I have started listening to podcasts because I haven't been able to find audiobooks I like. So two I am enjoying [culled from the top ranking ones on this list which I got from [personal profile] garonne of the top 100 podcasts according to someone one reddit who listens to a lot of them].

1. Hardcore History with Dan Carlin. I listened to King of Kings parts I, II, III while I was doing my miniature coffee shop. This is what sounds like an older white American man with a beard talking about the rise and fall of the Persian Empire. Like the history channel but radio. I am not very interested in modern history and the other free ones are more modern. If you subscribe, you get more. He's a battle and army campaigns kind of guy. But his voice is nice and I enjoyed it. He has an audiobook version of a book at my library called The End is Always Nigh talking about fatalistic trends in history, and I will probably check it out at some point. The episodes are very long: 3-5 hours each.

2. Criminal is a true crime podcast based in the US. Episodes are about 20 minutes. Some are poignant, some are mysterious, some are weird, most of them have been super-interesting, thoughtful and thought-provoking. Phoebe Judge has an interesting, clipped, and slightly nasally but not annoying American female voice. The black market in venus fly catcher plants, a family of pathologists/coroners in Wyoming, a modern counterfeiter, etc. I listen more attentively than with the history one, but it's kind of nice to have on while I'm making myself lunch or something like that. I can only listen to about 1-3 at a time.

I will continue down the 100-best list.
