Fannish 50 #36: Short Stories

I just finished de-cluttering my books and papers so it seemed like a good idea to add short stories to my Fannish 50.

I like short stories. My short story collections (not including Christmas) represent my range of interests well: 4 detective/mystery collections, 1 set of ghost stories and 1 set of erotica. And I have 5 collection of Christmas mystery short stories and that balances it out. I am especially proud of my Christmas collection. Including the Christmas story collections, about half were gifts so that shows my friends know me well (and like me enough to give me gifts!) :)

Of course, all of what I write could be considered short stories (some very short!). I think short stories are great vehicles for story telling and when done well, they really impress me in a way that novels don't.

The Joy Chronicles: books and paper

I did my books and papers de-cluttering

I own exactly 39 books now. 5 are in the Christmas box, the rest are on my shelf. I've done it once before so there wasn't much culling.

The papers, too, had accumulated since last time, but not that much. Mostly insurance bills.



Next up is what the Japanese call 'komono' which is 'stuff' or 'miscellany' and that will be a big category. I will have to divide it into types of things (like puzzles and crafting stuff, etc.)
