noun

glos·so·la·li·a
/ˌɡläsəˈlālēə,ˌɡlôsəˈlālēə/

1. the phenomenon of (apparently) speaking in an unknown language, especially in religious worship. It is practiced especially by Pentecostal and charismatic Christians.

--

I found this in a poem "Name Calling" by Rae Armantrout (an excerpt). I think we probably called it 'speaking in tongues' back in the day.
