Christmas toboggan arrives without forewarning.
Snow is blanketing this Christmas Day aborning.
Outside my residence bursts a sudden celebration,
merry demands interrupting bardic rumination.
Harkening joy on a light Christmas morning!

Friends and their sled, decked in red, winter greys scorning
holly and ivy and sweet-tongued bells adorning.
Charioteers and their steed, shout in wild exaltation,
“Christmas toboggan!”

“Come and enjoy with us this bright Christmas morning
carols deprived of carolers, drifts that need suborning!
short are the days, so come at once, without hesitation!”
I assent eagerly, throwing off lone hibernation,
Hatted, cravatted, I join, tooting, horning,
“Christmas toboggan!”
