Date with a Muse

Per Mary Oliver's advice, I attempted a date with my muse. I ran around the nearby lake last Wednesday and noticed the different colours of the water, part was frozen and part was moving and it has inspired a feeble attempt at verse in Spanish in Mother Tongue. To-do list crept creeping in my thoughts, but it was a good first attempt.

Out of the photos, I do particularly like the third one - it feels like a rather ceremonial procession ^__^

Thank you! Oliver's advice is to make 'meeting with the muse' a habit. Of course, a one-off isn't exactly what she's getting at but it was the first time I'd done anything saying to myself 'this is for the muse.' It was funny, though, I was focused so much on Nature and then while I was taking one of the photos a nice older Asian lady passed me in a very smart black jacket and intricately knotted scarf and I thought to myself, 'well, my muse is as much in her as in the trees and birds.'

Yes, some of them like to be in moving water part and the geese (not in photo) like to sort of march up and down on the ice.
