What do you like about rain?
Everything! I like watching storms. I like the way it smells. The sound on the glass! I like everything about rain, except perhaps driving at night in it.
Favourite comfort reading?
I like mysteries from the Golden Age of Crime Writing. Short stories are more comforting than novels and listening to audiobooks (with the proper narrator) are more comforting than reading.
Are you more happy or sad?
Sad. I'm an Eeyore.
Favourite comfort watching?
I rarely watch TV or films, certainly not enough to be comforting.
What's the best thing that happened to you this week?
I ordered a puzzle of Okapi Minisculus' name for his birthday and it arrived and his name was spelled correctly. I also finished my Raffles fic.
Imagine you're on a very long train journey (days and days) - what would be your favourite pastime during this journey?
Oh, what a fantasy! I'd spend the first day sleeping and staring out the window and crying because I didn't have to cook or do laundry or wipe anyone's bottom but my own or vacuum or take anyone to an appointment and I could have a bowel movement from start to finish without having to referee a fight or tie someone's shoe or answer the question 'Are you done yet?!'. Then I'd probably read and scribble some verse in a notebook and get drunk just because I could!
Name two of your dreams: one you really hope/plan will come true one day, and one that you're sure won't come true but wouldn't it be great though!
A job. Reliable child care. A bit of money of my own. I'd like to take an art class of some kind one day, something simple. And I'd like to learn how to swim properly. I tried to once and I got past the first step or two, but I've lost it all. Right now, I sort of hurl myself gracelessly through the water.

Date: 2019-03-15 05:00 pm (UTC)Oh, anything with 'beginner' or 'intro' in the title. Drawing. Painting. Sculpture. Probably not weaving or pottery but I wouldn't quibble.

Date: 2019-03-15 07:49 pm (UTC)I've not been to Britain but the trains I rode in Germany, Austria, and Italy were nice. I've driven 16 hours straight in the US but that's much more tiring than just sitting and watching the world go by. I've taken a 3.5 hour train journey in the US. It's ok.
