Into the Void

So my car was broken into again. Right in front of the apartment building. Again. The glove compartment was open and middle compartment was open and things were left on the seat. As of yesterday evening, I am certain it was locked, but it was not locked when I found it this evening. I filed another police report and I'll call the insurance company and building management again tomorrow when they open.

I am just a jumble of emotions, fear, anxiety, frustration, anger. I bought an extra alarm to go inside the car. I don't know if it will do any good or not. Sigh.

Yes, it is upsetting. I notified the building office again and they said I need to call the police [I have been filling out online incident reports last week and last night] and have them come to the property. I don't know. On the one hand, I want it to stop, on the other hand, the police! And I dread going to the car, not knowing what I am going to find. The boys' father suggested moving the car [it was parked right in front of the front door, next to the pavement] so I moved it to the back row and noticed the light was on [which I never do after having the battery die so many times because I or the boys leave the interior light on]. Just feels so awful knowing someone's been through your things and so pointless except for the violation.

Needless to say, I didn't have the right mindset to do my Watson's Woes yesterday. I am going to have to wait until I am calm enough to think about that.

Yes, you want to feel safe in your own space. And what is happening seems so pointless and yet so violating. Someone's going through your things. Over and over.

Yes, I couldn't sleep at all last night, and I dread going to the car, not knowing what I am going to find.

It wasn't. But this third time, the glove compartment was open but nothing was taken and the car was left locked (as it had been). I don't know what to do anymore. I didn't report it. I bought an alarm but it is very, very loud and I'm not certain it's the right thing to use. The boys' father returns Friday night so I am hoping he can help make decisions about what to do about it all.

Also the building management said to call the police next time [instead of filing an online report] but I am of two minds about doing it. Bringing police here, I don't know. And I don't know if they can help or not.
