Into the Void

The boys don't like sparklers as much as I would like them to. I told my sister this and she said 'of course, they aren't REAL fireworks.' Apparently if it can't warrant a fire brigade call, it's just party decorations :) The boys and I went through two boxes (of six each) on the 4th of July and then they were done probably after the first box. *sigh* A mother's disappointment never ceases, but not really. Let's let the Redneck die with me.
Sometimes I think I am not a good mother (which is not the same as a Bad Mother, I am not one of those). I say 'shit' a lot and 'fuck' once in a while but it has never occurred to me to call my very young son a dick out loud at the pool when I'm only one of two families there! When Minor's being a dick, I say 'don't be that guy.' But it would never occur to me to call my kids that. So win for me.
Also, the same pool visit, I ran into another mother who told me she lost 70 lbs through weight loss surgery a few months ago, but just got out of the hospital after 12 days (!!) of continual vomiting. Holy fuck. It made me feel better about being fat. I'll keep my XXL clothes and my food in my stomach, thanks.
I started sorting a Paris puzzle (like Havana and New York night club). I also got a new Christiana Brand audiobook Heads You Lose. I finished Book 3 of The Rivers of London series and boy was the summary on the library website wrong about the plot focus. But I still enjoyed it. I am waiting for Book 4 audiobook and then I'll have to go to print books as I've run out of audio.
And Watson's Woes is going swimmingly, and I got the film Venom from the library and am trying to find a mood to watch it. I like tentacles so I thought it might be enjoyable.
