In your own space, tell us who you would recast in a film, tv series or webseries, or maybe someone voicing a cartoon or videogame. Or who would you cast to play a character in a book, comic or maybe even your own fiction!

I tried this with a 300-word, gen-rated ficlet casting BTS' RM as Sherlock and BTS' Jungkook as John in the first crime scene of BBC Sherlock's "A Study in Pink." The ficlet is on the flash_fiction comm: Obviously.

RM is the leader and (in my opinion) the only intellectual in the group. The others are intelligent, but he's supposed to have an IQ of 148 and is very into art and philosophical questions. He speaks English well. And he's tall and looks good in a swishy coat. He mentions if he wasn't a pop star, he would've liked to have been a scientist. He's the only one of BTS who could be Sherlock, I think.

Jungkook is the youngest of the group and he is very action-oriented. He plays a lot of sports and plays them well. He admires RM very much and admits that it was the presence of RM that decided him on the several labels who wanted him to sign with them in the beginning of his career. Therefore, the idea of John/Watson coming over all surprised every time Sherlock/Holmes makes a deduction, that's definitely Jungkook. And he would shoot someone for RM in a heartbeat, I think. He's got Watson/John's 'natural advantage' and I can easily believe he's had romances on three continents.

It's not a great fit, but it was an interesting exercise.

I finished the four-building paper Cornish town of Mousehole.



I also did another journal page called Caribbean Dreams from a postcard I found from a trip to the US Virgin Islands a long time ago.

In your own space, share a favorite memory about fandom: the first time you got into fandom, the last time a fanwork touched your heart, wild times with fellow fans (whether on-line or off-line), a lovely comment you’ve received or have left for someone.

I think my favourite fandom memories are from the years I spent with the Sherlock60 comm on Live Journal. [https://sherlock60.livejournal.com/] We had a lot of fun and I learned a lot and I made some very precious friends. Every Sunday we posted 60-word ficlets about a story or part of a novel of the Sherlock Holmes canon and there was a poetry challenge. I remember learning what metre was and I remember a Christmas round robin where we took turns adding to a silly story. They were good times.
