Collage Journaling: January

It's a stretch (ha, my word for 2025) to call this a collage. It's more just journal decoration, I think. I will try for something more sophisticated for February. I want to do Valentines. I'm trying to cut down on my consumption (which I totally failed last night, but whatever, we pick ourselves up and brush ourselves off and get back in the saddle without our credit card) so if you have Valentine craft stuff you want to get rid of...let me know! sweettartheart sent me some nice stickers and debriswoman sent me some rich red collage paper and my sister sent me way too much pink ribbon. And I have some washi tape from past years.

BUT...the boys are dismissed 90 minutes early today for snow (I think it will be only a little bit. I hope, actually, because Minisculus is invited to a laser-tag/arcade birthday party this evening) and on MONDAY...we may get SEVEN inches!

I went to the store TODAY and beat everyone to the stocking up.

2025 Snowflake Challenge: Day 2

Challenge #2

In your own space, talk about your fannish origin story.

In the summer of 2011, I was on maternity leave with my first son. I was 36 years old, and I watched BBC Sherlock. The first episode blew me away. I didn't believe TV could be clever. Up until then, I had never shipped any fictional characters. I didn't have any idea of transformative works. From BBC Sherlock, I got a celebrity crush on Cumberbatch which led to reading fanfic on AO3 which led to writing fanfic on AO3 in December 2013. That led back to Sherlock Holmes canon and comms on LiveJournal and then here and other fandoms. And shipping. And a redefinition of myself. And 3 million words on AO3 later, here I am.

In August of 2021, I was trying to find something from the BBC on Youtube and accidentally clicked on BTS' BBC Radio One performance cover of Missing You, then their performance of Permission to Dance. What is going on with that one?! [That one is Park Jimin] They look like they're having fun. Forty-eight hours later, after much staring and many swats to my ego, I could tell the seven apart and was dropped down the rabbit hole which is ARMY life.
