Warning: I will be posting a lot next month, so feel free to unsubscribe if it bogs you down or becomes too much.
Word Count for September: 10,275
A low month but next month should more than make up for it. I looked at 2020 data and I'm actually 26k behind where I was last year at the end of September. But that's okay.
Reading: I finished the first four books of the Murderbot Diaries series and now I am waiting on the audiobook version of book #5. It may be a long wait. I am going to use the Murderbot's 'voice' as the voice of my ant in my zombie ant fic for Hallowe'en.
I read Joanne Harris' Chocolat and enjoyed it. I was surprised at how horrible the Midsomer Murder books were. I didn't make it through even a couple chapters.
My Agatha Christie reads keep going. I gave up on Waltz into Darkness by Cornell Woolrich. I actually bought this book at Barnes & Noble but I am really not in the mood for dark, sad tale a woman who steals all her husband's money.
I have been reading a lot of Jorge Luis Borges, and I have a collection of Pablo Neruda I want to go through as well.
I plan to join
regshoe in the read-along for The Flight of the Heron. And I may get to a m/m romance rec from
ancientreader: Shadowboxing by Rowen Mai.
Writing: I managed two sonnets in the last two days, which is good. And I've done 6 fills for the
fallintofallfestival.
So much exciting ahead. I have to start writing my two Spook Me fics: an original fic of zombie ants (based on True Science) and putting a skeleton in retired Midsomer detective Tom Barnaby's attic!
There will be lots of fics across the fandoms. Lots of smut and Hallowe'en fic. And Whumptober. There Octobercest, too. So much going on!
Personal: I have put the Marie Kondo on hold until November. I really can only have one hobby at a time. But I did manage to get through my papers. I still have miscellanea and mementos. I did the kitchen of Lose the Clutter, Lose the Weight but that was only one (the first) chapter. I got stuck on the bedroom because the advice was a bit difficult to implement. How to make my bedroom a 'haven.' It's going to take a while to wrap my head around that. I was also trying to do some of the exercises from my Cognitive Behavioral Therapy workbook. This is all a product of going through my books and deciding if I didn't read a small section of books by the end of the year, they were going to be donated.
I signed the family up for the 5k Turkey Trot which we do every year so I have to get serious about my running. We do it on Thanksgiving morning, and this year, it is in person.
Minisculus is doing very well at soccer. Minor is doing okay. Minor is auditioning for a county kids chorus. We'll see how he does.
I got a light-up pumpkin necklace to wear, a very impulse buy from the grocery store. I am working on a puzzle but it is The Most Difficult Puzzle I've Ever Done.
I continue to keep the boy downstairs in the afternoons. We asked what vegetables he eats and he said 'apples and oranges.' He eats no vegetables at all. That makes me feel better that at least Minisculus will eat peas, carrots, broccoli, and (with much weeping and gnashing of teeth) asparagus. Minor eats well.

Date: 2021-09-30 09:36 pm (UTC)Ha! I don't think when you picked the puzzle out you were intending to drive me to the brink of sanity but it is definitely a challenge. Nevertheless, I will prevail, even if I have to bang them into submission!
