Word Count: 24,368
Writing: A solid month. Met my monthly word count goal. I placed 2nd in the GYWO Yatzhee challenge.
Reading: I just finished 2 books for the bingo. The Cornwall Coast Murder by John Bude and Baltimore Blues by Laura Lippman. Only 2 more squares. I am going to work through this nonfiction anthology by Toni Morrison and I am on the reserve list for an audiobook version of The Song of Achilles. I'll also be working on Poirot's Christmas for my All of Agatha quest.
Personal: It's summer. Minor is signed up for four days of tennis camp to see if that sport appeals to him. Beware of endeavors requiring new equipment! I spent yesterday buying a tennis racket and more shoes (this time for Minor). I managed to exercise 12 days last month. Not great but it was something.
I think most are aware that I cut myself off from my extended birth family (my parents are dead so this means aunts, uncles and cousins and their offspring) at the 2016 election. I still keep contact with my sister. She went to a family wedding this weekend and the priest took time during the ceremony to praise the overturning of Roe. They are all ecstatic about the babies that are going to be saved. Ugh. I don't think about them much anymore but when I do, it's always a confirmation I did the right thing. Also, they're all armed to the teeth from oldest to youngest, handguns, rifles. Even my sister has guns in the house. And she's ostensibly the sanest one. It's just nuts.

Yes, going no contact is a lifesaver. Ugh.

Date: 2022-06-30 09:54 pm (UTC)I thought Baltimore Blues was okay to have on in the background while I did the puzzle. I was relatively invested in Tess and her world by the end of it. But I won't read another one. I was probably more interested because I live near Baltimore. I am not a huge fan of, in the same category, Janet Evanovich and the like.
Yeah, I mean, there isn't any meeting of the minds. And they make me sort of ill.
