I squeezed out 3k of a Miss Marple vs. Zombies story for the Hungry Ghost Challenge. Submissions will go live on Friday evening. It's the longest fic I've written in about three months, and I was happy I was able to eek it out and not default on the challenge. Muse still seems to be stubbornly uncooperative, overall.

In other news, it's the last week of summer break. School starts for the boys on Monday. And Minor is going to a supplemental tryout for soccer (some of the teams need extra players?!) tonight. I am trying to temper expectations. It helps that I signed him up for eight weeks of tennis lessons in September/October. So if this doesn't work out, he has something to look forward to, sports-wise. I am not even telling his father (whose still in Cameroon) until we know what's what.

I had to pay $34 in replacement library fines for two videos yesterday (kids!!). I also got air in the tires (other car) and vacuumed it. I'm on my cleaning campaign as the boys' father is supposed to return Saturday evening. I've done bathrooms and bedrooms, moving down the hall to living and dining area and kitchen, day by day.

Minor's middle school orientation is tomorrow. The boys have dentist appointments, too. And we go up the elementary school and put Minisculus' supplies in his classroom on Friday.

Good luck with all the Mom stuff. Hope Minor gets on well with the supplemental soccer tryout - and that he enjoys his tennis lessons. Do you have to go with Minor for the orientation?

Crossing my fingers for Minor! Either for soccer or tennis-- maybe the latter, as something new and different, will help him not to be disappointed if planned things (like continuing soccer) won't work out like one hoped. (I hope I'm making sense, it's way too hot right now, ugh.)

Yay for the words! 3k is not nothing, I couldn't pull that off these days, haha. :D

The soccer was successful! He's on a team! I am going to keep the tennis lessons, though, as backup.
