So I went to Washington DC a couple of weeks ago with the boys, their father, and his brother. Here is the Mall (with the Washington Monument) and the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

I learned (by having a house guest for a week) that I have 3 modes: Nag, Scold, and Ignore. It was a humbling moment when I realized none of that is appropriate for a house guest. So I had to remember how to make small talk and be kind and attentive.

Yes, and it was good for them to see it all. We've not taken them and it isn't that far away.

Yes, he was very kind and polite and respectful. A easy house guest to have! But I'm glad it's over.
