Title: Aberystwyth
Poetic Form: Clogyrnach (one of the 24 official Welsh "meters")
Rating: Gen
Length: 90
Notes: I began this lovely puzzle (1000 pieces) on Mother's Day. It is a quilt of a view of the Welsh town of Aberystwyth. I enjoyed putting it together very much and (as you do) wrote a poem using a Welsh form about it.
Hammered in forge of briny smith,
slapped, the pier of Aberystwyth.
Pillars stalwartly
resist drubbing sea,
its murky monolith.
Colourful houses, shops, hotels
stand in neat little row which dwells
'tween Cardigan Bay
and hills, rainbow quay
with walls grey to catch swells.
See verdant undulating lands,
carved and cut as if by hands.
Observe shades of green
in well-patterned mien,
sun between cloudy strands.
A scape of water, town, and sky.
Fitting the pieces, fingers fly.
Sorted and framed and built.
Stitches, seams atilt.
Pretty quilt. Puzzle wry.

Date: 2019-05-18 01:53 pm (UTC)It's a beautiful puzzle. The landscape and then the patches make for two levels. The dock & water were especially fun. Thank you!

Hammered in forge of briny smith
See verdant undulating lands,/ carved and cut as if by hands.
Observe shades of green/ in well-patterned mien,
Stitches, seams atilt./ Pretty quilt. Puzzle wry.
