My poem: Egypt scarab: gen

This was inspired by another entry from the Historium, an Egyptian scarab amulet which was found in a tomb. This is a kyrielle.

Scarab Heart by okapi

May god Anubis weigh my heart,
judge it to be the lighter part,
and grant the coming life hail me.
O scarab heart do not fail me!

Between cold fingers golden charm,
O beetle, keep my way from harm,
though burdens grave now assail me,
O scarab heart do not fail me.

As scarab young fly from the heap,
As sun god skyward makes a leap,
may I pass, may death unveil me,
O scarab heart do not fail me.

O hear my cry, O hear my plea,
that fortune fine will set me free,
free from all to weigh and ail me,
O scarab heart do not fail me.

I like the collage with the hints of sand and deserts. And the poem is lovely, with the hope that all will be well thanks to the scarab.
