Fannish 50 #26: Detective Kosuke Kindaichi by Seishi Yokomizo

I don't get excited very often but I was genuinely excited yesterday to find my bookstore had a copy of the newly translated novel in the Detective Kosuke Kindaichi series by Seishi Yokomizo. This is a Japanese detective written by a Japanese author. I have read all of them as put out by Pushkin Press and I have kept them. The newest one is at the bottom called The Devil's Flute Murder. I haven't started it yet. But they are usually about families and the body count is usually high and the nature of the murders gruesome. But I like them a lot and the cover are is striking. Kosuke isn't a very memorable detective. He's disheveled but in the Sherlock Holmes-genius category. So far they take place in Japan after WWII. Sinister insular islands and bizarre murder methods and decapitations have featured.
