Under the cut a discussion of spiritual [not religious, in my opinion] matters.
I have practiced daily meditation for 20 years. I follow the system of meditation and other spiritual disciplines as outlined By Sri Eknath Easwaran who founded the Blue Mountain Center for Meditation in Tomales, California, USA. I am a member of a local meditation group and (when life permits) meet with like minded meditators every Wednesday (in person for many years and now on Zoom). If you want to learn more visit: https://www.bmcm.org/ Easwaran has written a lot of books about his system of meditation as well as commentary on religious texts like The bhagavad Gita and The Upanishads. You can do his system with any organized faith or none at all. I kept it after I left the Catholic Church.
I learned of this system when I was in my 20's crashing at a co-worker's house. I find the system and his teachings very practical and sustaining and it has formed the structure of my life for two decades, providing genuine ideals as well as tools to reach those ideals.
In the past year, I have Begun to Be 'fannish' about it in the sense that I write poems Based on some of the guru's anecdotes which form kind of parable illustrating certain points and I make cards for people in my group as well as a friend who lives at the meditation center in California.
On Tuesdays and Sundays there is a program from the center in California and today was a special day honoring Sri Easwaran and his teachings (he died in 1999 and his wife died this year at the age of 101!)
Here's one of the cards

I have not been ale to attend meditation group because of the boys' father's absence (and the boy's soccer practice schedules) so Minor and I have been doing a kind of book club using a biography of Gandhi that Easwaran wrote.
So here is a short poem about a defining incident in Gandhi's early life.
coatless and trunkless
shivering all the long night
Maritzburg Station
cast off, thrown out, left alone
by dawn, a great soul was born
Here's a video of him talking about the nature of happiness.
