1. The next race will be a 5k Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving (28 Nov). The boys and their father and I run it every year. Then I have signed up for a very informal 6k on 22 Dec. This is organized by Minor's cross country coach and it's so informal it doesn't have a T-shirt and the entry fee was the cheapest I've ever known but I have discovered having an event to train for is much more motivating than not having one.

2. I have started a new craft project: a photo book for my sister of her orchids. It will be a flip book. I also made my first Christmas card today.

3. I am proud of Minisculus because he graduated to level 3 swimming. I suppose the practice in Aruba helped. I have signed him up for 1 more set of lessons beginning 19 Nov and then I think I will be satisfied unless he wants to go farther himself.

6 NOV: Saxophone Day: What’s your favorite musical instrument?

I like the way cello music sounds. I played trombone as a young person so I like the sound of it, too, and the clairnet.

7 NOV: Retinol Day: How happy are you with your skincare regime?

I am happy. I use a cleanser and a regular moisturizer with SPF and then in the winter I use a fancy moisturizer without an SPF (Creme de Mer) because my forehead gets very flaky with central heating.

8 NOV: Aid and Abet Punsters Day: If you like puns, what’s your favorite or most memorable?

I like them all. I like dad jokes, too. What did the Buddhist say to the hotdog vendor? Make me one with everything.

9 NOV: Carl Sagan Day: Do you have a favorite astronomer?

Galileo.

10 NOV: Sesame Street Day: Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?

Oscar and Cookie Monster

11 NOV: Origami Day: Do you know how to do origami?

No. The instructions always confuse me.

12 NOV: Fancy Rat & Mouse Day: What’s your favorite fictional mouse or rat?

smallhobbit's OC Mouselet. I also like Ratigan from The Great Moust Detective.

Two more races - that's impressive, but I do understand the greater motivation when you have something to train for.

Yes, it's finding out what ACTUALLY motivates me as opposed to what I think should motivate me or what motivates other people or the like. If I have a race, I train for it and do the cardio and strength and stretching required but without it, it is much easier for me to skip it.

Yes. And I got Minisculus transferred to the higher level class so that's good. He starts another session on Tuesday. I suppose it's finding out what works for one. And for me having something like a fixed event to shoot for is more motivating than not having it.

Did you see my re-recommendation about my cleanser? The second one I talked about, Medik8 Surface Radiance Cleanse 150ml turned out to be much better than the other one. I'm still using it and it's nowhere near empty. It lasts a long, long time and so is better value than the one I recommended.

Yes. Good you are still liking it. I will give it try when I finish what I've got. I bought a small travel size bottle of something for the trip.
