Music ask: Morning playlist
Mar. 7th, 2025 09:16 amI just watched a Youtube video about setting up a morning routine, and it recommended playing a morning playlist, so here's a question:
If you had a morning playlist, what song(s) or type of music would be on it?
If you had a morning playlist, what song(s) or type of music would be on it?

Yeah, I couldn't decide if it would be a revving up playlist or a gentle wake-up playlist (of course, there can be two, but maybe not a mixed one).

I sent this song of theirs to my niece the day after the school board she works for refused to cancel school, forcing her to sit out a hurricane with her eighteen first-grade pupils; fortunately, damage here was fairly slight and everyone made it home all right.
My thought was that Alestorm might be expressing her opinion of the school board.

Date: 2025-03-08 02:49 am (UTC)80s boppy pop. Nothing that requires any emotional investment, but has a comfort feel - I'm thinking Cyndi Lauper, Wham!, Bananarama. But also Jimmy Barnes, so, shading into rock. But I can see that I'd probably change it regularly.
So really, what was on the radio when I was a kid/teenager, and the radio went on when we got up in the morning.

Thank you for your insights. It's given me food for thought.

I was going to attribute it to a specific morning radio announcers music preferences, but went and did some poking at the internet, and apparently they only took over the show in 1984, which is at least four years after I started actually paying attention to the radio in the morning -- I can point at specific news / events from 1980 that I specifically remember, which is what I'm basing my estimate on.
