The State of the Ficcery: September 2019

Not a great month, but it's over.

Word Count: 20,272 [second lowest month of the year]

Writing: 7 new fandoms added for the 100 Fandoms challenge (I'm up to 84). Men in Kilts is chugging along. I finished my Anacreontics poem. But I haven't even started on my two big projects: my choose-your-own-adventure and my Spook Me fic.

Personal: Yeah, not a great month. I have been battling flies (two exterminator visits and $100 worth of traps and electrocuting gizmos and they are still with me!) and I was on my own with the boys for what will be 5+ weeks when the boys' father returns later this week.

But I am determined to enjoy October, even if it is still summer temperatures (96 F/35 C forecasted for Wednesday!) outside.

Your word count is still amazing - and considerably higher than my best month. I'm at 88 fandoms, so, like you, aim to finish by the end of the year.

Enjoy your October writing. My Spook Me is a standard Lucas angsty ficlet - I wasn't particularly inspired by the pictures.

Thank you. I was 276 short of my monthly goal (set by the GYWO comm spreadsheet) but am ahead on my yearly goal (only about 21k away from 250k for the year). I was down 3k (from the monthly goal) in the morning yesterday and I busted my butt trying to hit it, but Minor had soccer and the coach asked me to do something unexpectedly that sort of upset me, and I could only crank out about 2700. The missing 300 words chaffed but then so did the soccer coach's request so I was in a bit of a mood and I honestly ran out of inspiration.

Thank you. I can't say I was terribly inspired by the pirate pictures either but I am going to wedge them into the idea I had already. I always look forward to Lucas angst!
