“Oh, I have a confession: it’s not a social call,” replied Namjoon, his voice a buzzcut crackling down the line.
“Why are you calling at all? I thought you whippersnappers only knew how to text.”
“No, I am wondering about your new career,” said Namjoon, ignoring the jibe.
“Hawking ramen? It’s a noble profession, Sargent Kim, and your class distinctions are showing.”
“No, I mean, hiring yourself out as masters of ceremony for weddings!”
“Oh, I didn’t ‘hire myself out,’ you peasant. I did it for love. Love manifests itself in many splendid ways, like you declaring yours for me in an intimate photo shared with 47 million of our closest friends.”
“Intimate photo?! I was pointing at a billboard!”
“To-may-to. To-mah-to.” Seokjin had been stepping gingerly round the set, but suddenly, all the televisions sprang to life: and they all bore his image.
