Day 2/ 26 APR prompt: unconventional vocabulary
What I mean by this is words that either you (or your family or your local environment or your particular background) use that aren't dictionary words.
For example, I had an aunt who said 'tidy-bowl' instead of 'tidy' or 'clean' or 'put in order,' as in 'I have to tidy-bowl the guest bedroom room before Friday.' In my house, we call those little fruit gummies (like Welsh's) beo-beo because that's what the boys called them when they were little.
Feel free to drop your own example in the comments.
I am reminded of this by a poem by Ada Limón, "The Hurting Kind" in part 3:
Sticky packs of photographs
heteromaniacal postcards
I googled 'heteromaniacal' but I think she made it up to express the oppressive need of media/popular culture to couple people in romantic relationships. And I think it's a great word. I get so frustrated sometimes when a romantic subplot is Very Artifically stuck into something and that word expresses the drive to do that.
Day 2/ 26 APR What's the story behind why you replaced the last phone you had?
My phone was so old the company said they were going to cut me off if I didn't upgrade. Yes. :/
1. What have you been thinking about lately that has kept you up at night?
2. What's the story behind why you replaced the last phone you had?
What's something that you know you should start, but haven't?
How would you spend $1,000 to give the most happiness to the most number of people possible?
What's most important to you about your school/work environment?
Would you feel comfortable showing me the photos on your phone?
What uncommon thing would you like to see become more common?
What's the most interesting thing you have in your pockets right now?
What part of the human face do you look at when you talk to someone?
When you want to escape from everyone, where do you go?
How do you think your reality differs from others you know?
What's a food you vow never to eat?
What argument did you have that looking back on was absolutely ridiculous?
What part of history do you find most interesting?
At what age did you think you become an adult and when do you actually think you did?
What do you like to do that's considered touristy?
What is the most recent life lesson you've learned?
What's something uncomfortable but you feel everyone should experience at least once in their life?
What do you secretly hoard?
What's something that you know that few other people know?
Do you believe there is only one other person in the world for you or many?
