I just finished a detective novel where the motive revolves around an anti-abortion fanatic so it had me thinking interpreting devotion in other ways.

Summary: After a case, Sherlock makes an assumption.
“I thought you might have some understanding, John.”
“You did, did you? Why should I understand, Sherlock? I don’t go around preaching the sanctity of life at the top of my lungs and then sneak around kidnaping and murdering people who don’t happen to agree with me!”
“Devotion to a cause?”
“I’ve never killed for a cause…don’t look at me like that, Sherlock, I was a soldier. That’s what we do. It’s war. Fight the enemy…oh, that…if you recall, Jefferson Hope was about to kill you! I only killed in your defense.”
“Some causes deserve devotion more than others, perhaps.”
this is my favorite solo performance of Jungkook's, and this song has a line (which actually rhymes in English! Huzzah! Most of the time, their English lyrics sort-of-not-really rhyme): Show you what devotion is / deeper than the ocean is.
