Craft: Volcano: Saint Mary Mead under Lava!

I bought a National Geographic kit 'Build your own volcano' over the summer, and the boys and I never got around to doing it. Today, I gave it to them to stave off boredom and let them use my wee British village (which I call Saint Mary Mead) to put in its path. It kept them busy (mold, painting, etcetera) most of the afternoon.

Edited to add: It erupted but it did not explode, which was just a bit disappointing.

The pink lava is rather striking...

Miss Marple has another village parallel for her arsenal. 'Oh, this is just like the time the pink lava engulfed the whole place...' It did wash off some but I'm afraid henceforth the village will always have a slight tint to it. We'll call it Rosy Mead or something.

The boys liked that part a lot! And as we have no plans to move, the stains on the balcony will fade with time, I suppose.

Awesome 😂 Poor Saint Mary Mead. I trust the inhabitants of her next village realise how important it us to keep Miss Marple entertained with puzzlers to solve! ;)
