Into the Void

So far there have been no more car break-ins. The building manager said that I should call the police when it happens and have them come to the property. On the one hand, I don't want my car (or anyone else's car) broken into, on the other hand, police in an immigrant neighborhood of mostly brown and black people, uh, I don't know.
My stomach was tying itself in knots this weekend in dread of my eye doctor's appointment, both dealing with the Medical World and the crazy expense of replacing the glasses that were stolen from my car. They called me twice on Saturday because they couldn't find my insurance. But 2 of the 3 people I dealt with were WOC and they were very nice. And it turned out to be less than I was dreading (still over a $100 but I was expecting three or four times that). And now I have an updated prescription. My last visit (to the chain) was in 2013 so I suppose it's natural that my eyesight gets a little worse in that time. I have the option of bifocals, but for now, I am just going to stick with the distance glasses for driving. So, whew! One less thing to worry about.
I took the boys to the library. We have 52 books checked out. Lord.
I know I complain about them, but the boys were perfect in the eye doctor's, and it was a tiny office.
So I paid all the bills again like an Adult, and I noticed that the receipt for the internet goes to an email account called [in another language] AbsolutelyDangerous@gmail.com. My first thought: identity theft, but the rest of the account is in the boys' father's name. My second thought: I am living half of Mr & Mrs Smith and the boys' father isn't a mathematician and he doesn't go to Africa to work, he's a spy or assassin. There's a rumor the president of Rwanda has been dead for years and nobody will admit it, and maybe the boys' father was responsible for THAT! Then I asked him and yup it's his and when I asked him why he chose that he said it was because it was the opposite of himself. No kidding.
I was behind on Watson's Woes and now I am still behind on Sunshine, but I am working on my Furies poem.

Date: 2021-07-20 02:05 pm (UTC)I know, right? The limit is 60. And collectively we have about 15 on the waiting list.
You think you know someone after being together almost 17 years but they can still surprise me.
