1. What are your top 5 favourite foods?
- white rice
- gummy peach rings or gummy watermelon slices
- cashews
- chicken pot pie
- anything cooked by someone else
2. Is there something similar between them?
I tend to like small round things I can eat a lot of (candy, popcorn, nuts, etc)
3. Can you cook them yourself?
I could, but see #5. Marie Callendar makes a better pot pie than I do.
4. Pick one, and tell us why it is so special.
I grew up eating a lot of rice. Beef stew, beans, stir fry, barbeque (read: pulled pork) it doesn't really matter. It's all better over rice. I don't like brown rice or any other kind of rice.
5. Have you eaten your recommended servings of 2 fruit and 5 vegetables today?
Holy fuck no! Five vegetables would be a supreme fantasy. If I get one, it'd be amazing. Fruit is hit or miss. On days after shopping day (Wednesday) there is usually fruit, but by the weekend it's usually gone.

Date: 2021-09-10 06:18 pm (UTC)Ah, another rice lover. I was trying to think of 'real foods' I could eat every day, and I'd rather have rice than most other foods. I only buy the family size Marie Callendar pot pies when they're on sale, but when they are on sale, I usually get a couple because it's easy to feed four on one. They're good in the fall and winter, on Sundays when I really don't want to cook.

Date: 2021-09-13 12:33 pm (UTC)I used to loathe pot pies of any kind when I was a kid, but I've definitely grown to like them a lot as an adult. Never made my own though... Trader Joe's has an excellent steak pie- it's a rare indulgence, but so good.
I also love gummy peach rings and watermelon slices! :) I think my favorite are gummy cherries.

Date: 2021-09-13 06:59 pm (UTC)No, I wouldn't make a pot pie. But every now and then they hit the spot. Especially cold weather Sundays when I don't want to cook. I had to eat the little ones by Banquet when I was a kid. My grandmother made them a lot. They were cheap.
Ah, I don't usually eat rice by itself (or with just butter or sugar). I could. But I usually put it with something, but I get the appeal of rice pudding and it usually smells really good. I like bread pudding, too. In New Orleans, they always put like molasses and nuts and and rum and other stuff in it, to make it, you know, UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. :)

Date: 2021-09-14 11:22 pm (UTC)Rice is basically a perfect food. Goes with so much and is delicious by itself. :)
I've never been to New Orleans (one of these days!), but OMG I want that bread pudding NOW.
