I tried to play a video game.
My boys have a Nintendo switch and our public library just started carrying video games for rental so one day I looked at the offerings and picked something called Dredge and got the boys to help me figure it out. I've never played anything before. It seemed (from the description) like a story kind of game with supernatural and horror elements (it was) so I thought that would be more interesting. I'm not interested in Mario or any of those kinds of games.
It was okay. I played it 3 times. A bit too complicated for me. You are in a boat and go to a mysterious place and have to fish and have different tasks. There is a story line but I wasn't super invested in it. Your boat gets damaged and needs repairs. You buy gear and can fish different kinds of fish.
I'm not going to play it anymore. It was interesting but not fun enough or easy enough for me to play more.
Anyway, if any of my friends have recommendations for Nintendo switch games (story games and no shooting or killing things), I'm open to it.

You wander around and find clues and figure out what happened, mostly by means of watching cut scenes tied to the watch and tying those scenes to evidence and clues. It's well-written. I wound up taking lots of notes in order to put everything together, but that's just me.
