I know I will be broadening the definition of 'fannish' with some of these. I mean, to get to 50 I will have to, I think. I am saying it's 'something I like that I've done something creative about.'

I like chocolate. Quality or quantity.

Poirot likes hot chocolate/drinking chocolate. I did a triple drabble with Poirot drinking chocolate Crying in the chocolate like it, too, but I make the boys' father a cup EVERY morning.

I like fancy chocolates but I like fancy chocolates with interesting wrappers more. And I write poems and do collages. Here's a very minimal collage with the head of the rose Minisculus gave me for Mothers' Day (which he got from the soccer moms at the game I didn't go to). And a tanka. I used British spelling because the chocolate is Welsh!

what colour the rose
whose gentle flavour graces
this fine chocolate bar?
fathoms pink of cut-out tongues
raspberries blush in the dark

beneath layered pigmented sky
the unseen labourers make hay
while the sun shines, while thick clouds fly
while shadows on bales roll away
while stone-gated cottage rests sound
the ones responsible aren’t found
between the borders of the frame
left hands’ work without face or name

crinkling sweetly, prettily
round pink belly, twisted ends
lacy gold calligraphy
once unwrapped, pink tongue extends

I won't confess how long I've been working on these limericks, but it is much longer than less than 70 words should take. I do sometimes do poems on chocolate wrappers but as I'm out at the moment, I let this nice wrapping paper be my muse.

Prompt: syrupy

Beneath a sparkly dome, a golden square
arrests sunlight and eyes of passersby.
Its layers clinging, not crumbling, all share
a syrupy kiss, a treacly sigh,
the kind to make lookers-on halt and stare
and want, inviting query and reply.
Sweet, stickily studded with nuts, it sits
between honey cakes and chocolate bits.

I put this on a chocolate wrapper with orange ribbon.

Title: Love's Old Sweet Song
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (ACD)
Length: 135
Rating: Gen
Poetic form: Xenolith
Notes: For the [community profile] holmes_minor poetry page. The xenolith is a two part poem with teeth intertwined like combs. One part of this are the lyrics of Love's Old Sweet Song, the poetry page prompt, and the larger part is my verse based on "The Retired Colourman." I also included this in my chocolate wrapper poetry series. This was a bar of Ruby Chocolate (very pink but tasting very mild) from ww.cocopzazz.co.uk.

old tale, a treacherous friend and a fickle wife;
once in the dear dead days beyond recall,
they must’ve been happy, full of love and of life,
when on the world the mists began to fall,
betrayal, jealousy, which the drum, which the fife?
though the heart be weary, sad the day and long
still to us at twilight comes love’s old song

of spider’s web spun shrewd and sharp as palatte knife,
just a song at twilight when the lights are low,
and the flickering shadows softly come and go,

‘pon overgrown garden and noxious plumbing rife
though the heart be weary, sad the day and long,
though the faults entombed and painted over the strife
still to us at twilight comes love’s old song,
old tale, a murderous man and his murdered wife.

I like to make concrete poems out of fancy chocolate wrappers (after I eat the chocolate).

Here's the text of the poem in case you can't read the image. The image next to it was made with the lining of a wrapper of a chocolate bar.

The hive-shaped spoon was hewn on turning lathe
from wood been-stripped from boughs where apples thrive
and is accustomed, thus, to honey-bathe
and sweetness-bearing work, its teeth alive
to saps that cling and clutch to well-survive
the journey from lip of jar to buttered bread.
Such blessings spread like rain on garden bed
and are just as welcome as treacled noon
ascending high above the stem and head
of an applewood, slow-spun, hive-shaped spoon.
