Day 23: Obsession
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
Rating: Gen
Summary: Sherlock gives Mrs. Hudson a gift after a case.
“For you, Mrs. Hudson,” said Sherlock, with awkward sincerity. “Thank you.”
“Oh, my dear, anytime,” she replied, accepting the plastic-wrapped box, then studying it, “so, this was what all the fuss was all about.” She made noises of disapproval and disbelief. “Obsession,” she read.
“In more ways than one,” retorted Sherlock. “Vintage perfumer hunters, like all collectors, can be ruthless in their acquisition of rare items. I used this as bait, and the killer fell into my trap. Once she was certain I had it, nothing was going to stop her from possessing it, nothing except you and your diabolical use of a hoover cord. I will replace the broken mirror, by the way.”
“Oh, I’m not worried about that, Sherlock. I never liked it anyway. It served its purpose.”
“John is going to write the case up in the blog so prepare yourself for an uptick in fame. It’ll probably have some cringeworthy title like ‘Needs Musk when the Devil Drives,’ but you’ll the heroine, no doubt.”
“It’s nice to have fans. Um, Sherlock, dear, how much did you say this was worth?”
He told her.
“Dear me, uncommon scents do compound (deadly) interest.”
“Please don’t tell John that.”
Day 24: Agape
And for Music Monday, here is a very pretty instrument song "Agape" from the film If Beale Street Could Talk
[Agape (/ɑːˈɡɑːpeɪ, ˈɑːɡəˌpeɪ, ˈæɡə-/;[1] from Ancient Greek ἀγάπη (agápē)) is "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for [human beings] and of [human beings] for God".[2] This is in contrast to philia, brotherly love, or philautia, self-love, as it embraces a profound sacrificial love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance.]
